Delivery of Results

Ensuring the Timely Delivery of Results for 2024/2025

 

Building on the successes of the 2023 VTQ Results Action Plan and the Delivery of Results activity in 2024, Ofqual have confirmed that the same process will be followed for the 2024/2025 academic year and beyond.

 

These arrangements ensure that learners expected to progress to further or higher education by completing a Level 3, Level 1/2 and/or Level 2 VTQs are issued their results on or before A level/Level 3 results day and GCSE/Level 2 results day, as appropriate where the learners need to use their results to progress to further or higher education.

 

All centres who deliver the following qualifications will be expected to participate in the full Delivery of Results process:

Timeline of activities

The timeline of activities which we will need you to adhere to ensure we are able to carry out the appropriate quality monitoring and checking to be able to authorise certification.

 

Event: Declaration

 

  • Start Date: 24/02/2025
  • End Date: 07/03/2025
  • Description: Centres to complete, sign and return the Delivery of Results Declaration Form.

 

Event: Term time checkpoint

 

  • Start Date: 31/03/2025
  • End Date: 30/04/2025
  • Description: Centres to identify learners who intend to use their qualification for progression to higher education.

 

Event: Latest date for external assessments to be completed

 

  • Start Date: 01/09/2024
  • End Date: 20/06/2025
  • Description: All assessments are on demand and can be taken at any point within the year. Please note although all assessments are available on demand this is the last date these can be completed for those progressing to HE.

 

Event: Latest date for internal assessments to be completed

 

  • Start Date: 01/09/2024
  • End Date: 20/06/2025
  • Description: All assessments are on demand and can be taken at any point within the year. Please note although all assessments are available on demand this is the last date these can be completed for those progressing to HE.

 

Event: Qualification claim date

 

  • Start Date: 01/09/2024
  • End Date: 20/06/2025
  • Description: Once all assessments are complete and the centre has carried out their summative IV sampling. Centres should claim certification via Parnassus.

 

Event: Deadline for submission of evidence for quality assurance

 

  • Start Date: 01/09/2024
  • End Date: 04/07/2025
  • Description: The external verifier will confirm which learner files are required for sampling. Centres must submit the requested evidence and associated IV sampling.

 

Event: Latest date by which external quality assurance must be completed

 

  • Start Date: 01/09/2024
  • End Date: 25/07/2025
  • Description: The external verifier will complete the summative sampling of learner evidence and where this meets the qualification requirements, authorise certification.

 

Event: Latest date by which certificates will be released to centres

 

  • Start Date: 01/09/2024
  • End Date: 08/08/2025
  • Description: Certificates generated by Active IQ and sent to nominated centre contact.

Key actions for centres to ensure timely results in 2025

 

The process is set to commence in February 2025 with more information being provided to you before this date. In readiness for this, it’s vital that your data is accurate and that the correct status is recorded for learners expecting a result for the 2024/2025 academic year within current and future registrations. Please ensure:

 

Registrations

As part of our registration process, we now require you to indicate (at the point of registration) if a learner is likely to require their result to progress to further or higher education in August at the end of the current academic year (August 2025).

 

Reviewing Accurate Status’

Within Parnassus you should run the on-demand report titled: ‘Registrations in Progress for Eligible HE Qualifications’ regularly which will keep track of learner statuses. This will ensure that the data recorded is accurate.

 

Run the report by:

 

  • Opening the reporting tab on Parnassus
  • Select the ‘Registrations in progress for eligible HE qualifications’ report and populate the following sections:
    • Qualification id – leave as all (this will ensure all in-scope qualifications which you deliver are included)
    • Registration from – either 01/08/2023 (if you are running a two-year programme) or 01/08/2024 (if you are running a 1-year programme)
    • View report
  • This will then generate a report which will show you all learners registered on in-scope qualifications and their progression status, including:
    • Registration date
    • Learner first name
    • Learner surname
    • Learner date of birth
    • Qualification
    • Progression status
    • Unknown
      • Yes – the learner requires their result for progression in August
      • No – the learner does not require their result for progression in August

 

If a learner changes their status at any point within the year then their progression status with Active IQ will also need to be updated. Please contact our Customer Experience team immediately to advise of any changes.
