In this month’s spotlight feature, we interview Will Mansford, External Verifier
Q. Tell us about your role at Active IQ, how long have you worked here and what you most enjoy?
A. I started with Active IQ in September 2013 as a zero hours External Verifier. I became a full time External Verifier in April 2015. I work as an External Verifier and support my centres based in the North West, North East and Yorkshire regions. I enjoy supporting new and existing centres in delivering Active IQ qualifications. Providing advice and guidance to my centres gives me a sense of pride.
Q. What advice can you give people who aspire to be where you are?
A. Always be open to change and adapt to all situations. Never let challenges overcome you. In our industry the changes occur every day it seems. It`s how you embrace the changes that makes this job rewarding. Always be open to new ideas and continue to increase your knowledge and skills. Don`t let set-backs get in your way. Remain focussed and you will achieve what you set out to do.
Q. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A. Like anyone else – be in a boyband and tour with Westlife!
Q. Tell us something we would never guess about you?
A. I am a twin.
Q. What is the best advice you have ever been given?
A. It`s a quote which my Dad told me when growing up “Tough times don`t last forever, but tough people do”.
Q. Which exercise do you most enjoy?
A. Is golf allowed? I play football and golf competitively still, which I love. I love classes such as Spinning, HIIT, Boxercise and Circuits. I like the class mentality, rather than training on my own.
Q. Any hidden talents?
A. I love to cook. Rather good at a spag bol.
Q. How would you describe yourself in three words?
A. Calm, Sincere & Dedicated.
