Active IQ’s Head of Product Development Lee Buck
Q. Tell us about your role at Active IQ, how long have you worked here and what you most enjoy?
I joined Active IQ in 2008 and will have been working here 10 years in March. In my role I am responsible for overseeing both qualification and product development. This involves the creation of regulated qualifications and liaising with the regulators as well as overseeing the development of all of Active IQ’s supporting resources e.g. manuals, lecture packs etc.
The aspect of my role that I most enjoy is listening to our customers’ needs and industry demands and being able to turn these in to regulated qualifications and high quality training programmes.
Q. What advice can you give people who aspire to be where you are?
Take the opportunities when they arise and make the most of them, the leisure sector is relatively small and one thing can often lead to something else.
Q. What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I was a keen dancer and spent most of my teenage weekends at Pineapple Dance Studios.
Q. Tell us something we would never guess about you?
I learnt to ice skate before I was 3.
Q. What is the best advice you have ever been given?
It’s never too late to start…. It’s always too late to wait!
Q. Which exercise do you most enjoy?
Q. Any hidden talents?
Not especially hidden but I am quite good at baking and pumpkin carving!!
Q. How would people describe you in three words?
Calm, patient, friendly
