How can my centre offer Active IQ qualifications?
Your centre must become approved with Active IQ. Please click here to view our ‘Become Approved’ webpage for further details.
How much does becoming an approved centre cost?
Please click here to view our fees list for all centre costs.
I am an existing centre wanting to add further qualifications to my centre’s approved suite; how do I go about this?
Is it acceptable for the same person to be both the tutor and the assessor?
Yes, although it is not best practice in the long term. If the same person acts as both tutor and assessor, they must hold all relevant qualifications. Please click here to view our ‘Staff Requirements’ page for further details.
How can I/my learner(s) obtain a replacement certificate?
If an original certificate is lost/stolen/destroyed, a centre or learner can request a replacement from Active IQ. Replacement certificates can be requested by downloading and completing the Replacement Certificate Request Form.
Each replacement certificate costs £15 plus VAT, or £25 plus VAT if you would also like an electronic version. Please send the form to Active IQ, Dryden House, St. Johns Street, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, PE29 3NU, or submit an authentically signed electronic copy to email@example.com
Payment can be made by cheque, or alternatively if you wish to make a payment by card please allow for Active IQ to complete all relevant checks and our Accounts team will then contact you on the telephone number you provide on the replacement certificate form.
Replacement certificates are issued within five working days.
How do I get Direct Claim Status for a qualification – what is the rationale?
Before Active IQ allocates DCS for a qualification, your allocated EV will need to see a minimum of five compliant summative learner portfolios. This sample must include all active assessors and verifiers involved within each qualification to clearly evidence sufficiency in practices across the team.
Who decides the Approved Lift List that appears in Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing qualifications?
This list was set by SkillsActive following consultation with industry employers and key stakeholders, and all awarding organisations must abide by these.
We have had an EV visit. Portfolios were sampled formatively by the EV and the visit was deemed to be compliant and low risk, does that mean we now have DCS and you don’t need to see the portfolios again before certification?
If the learner portfolios were sampled at a formative stage, these will need to be sampled again at the summative stage (along with associated IV records) prior to certification being authorised. DCS will be awarded if the summative sample is compliant, providing that the requirements listed in Q7 are all covered.
We held DCS for an old version of a qualification; does that mean we now automatically have DCS for the newly updated qualification?
Whilst parts of a qualification often remain similar after an update, if there have been significant changes made to the assessment requirements, Active IQ will need to sample your first cohort of completed portfolios before we can look at awarding DCS to ensure that all centre staff have understood the changes in the assessment strategies.
Do we get charged by Active IQ for marking our exam papers?
Not at all; it is a completely free service to our centres.
