Active IQ were proud to sponsor the sixth annual Skills Summit in London last week where ‘Pathways to Productivity’ was the theme for the day. Speakers included Peter Lauener (Chief Executive, Skills Funding Agency and Education Funding Agency), Bryan Horne (Ofqual) and Vince Cable (Former Secretary of State for BIS) who spoke on a range of topics from funding, regulating qualifications post QCF and effective education-employer partnerships (to name a few).
All topics covered during the event focused on how skills will play an important role in driving the UK’s productivity along with the associated challenges and more importantly, opportunities we face as a sector.
Our Business Development Team had a busy day exhibiting at the event, speaking to a large number of both UK and international delegates about Active IQ products and services, particularly in relation to apprenticeships. Despite the event being of a broad skills focus, it was pleasing to hear how many delegates valued the active leisure sector contribution and see this as an important sector moving forwards.
