Introduction
A ‘life skills’ qualification at Level 1 on the National Qualifications Framework. Candidates will learn the links between activity and better health, and how to analyse their lifestyle, put together a strategy to improve nutritional habits, and take up opportunities of becoming more active in their daily life.
Entry requirements
- This qualification is open to all, no previous experience is required
- A basic level of numeracy and literacy is required.
Qualification structure
- Unit 1 – The Body and How it Works (J/103/1504)
- Unit 2 – How to Adopt an Active, Healthy Lifestyle (L/103/1505).
Assessment
Internally assessed:
Personal Activity Log (PAL) which contains a complete personal health and lifestyle profile, personal dietary analysis, strategy for improvement and a programme of exercise to improve own levels of health and fitness.
Externally assessed:
A 60 minute theory paper consisting of thirty multiple choice questions.
