Introduction

This qualification is for leisure centre employees responsible for an operational role acting under supervision.

Qualification structure and credit value

This NVQ consists of 4 mandatory units (13 credits) and a minimum of 4 optional units (minimum of 7 credits), total of 20 credits. The optional units can be selected from any of the optional groups shown and are delivered and assessed in the work place.

  • Support the work of the team and organisation (Y/601/4483) – this unit is worth 2 credits
  • Promote health, safety and welfare in active leisure and recreation (D/601/4484) – this unit is worth 4 credits
  • Support equality and diversity in active leisure and recreation (H/601/4485) – this unit is worth 2 credits

Equipment

  • Set up, take down and store activity equipment (K/601/4486) – this unit is worth 3 credits
  • Check and service activity equipment (M/601/4487) – this unit is worth 3 credits
  • Site caravans on parks (A/601/4489) – this unit is worth 3 credits
