Introduction

This qualification provides candidates with progression from the current Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym/Exercise to Music)
This qualification is an approved NVQ on the Apprenticeship Framework and forms an integral component of the Active IQ Apprenticeship package. This NVQ consists of five units; three mandatory units plus one optional grouping that are delivered and assessed in the workplace.

Mandatory units A

All candidates must successfully complete the following units:

  • C35 Deal with Accidents and Emergencies (U1027677)
  • D417 Motivate and Support Clients to Develop and Maintain their fitness (L/104/0298)
  • D448 Evaluate and Develop own Practice in Instructing Exercise and Fitness (J/104/0297).

Optional Grouping B – Group exercise with music

  • D414 Plan and Prepare Group Exercise Sessions with Music (R/104/0299)
  • D415 Instruct a Group Exercise Session with Music (A/104/0300).

Optional Grouping C – Gym-based exercise

  • D410 Plan and Prepare Gym-based Activities with Clients (F/104/0301)
  • D411 Instruct, Observe and Assist Gym-based Activities (J/104/0302)
