Introduction

The Active IQ Certificate in Exercise for The Management of Low Back Pain is at level 4 on the on the National Qualifications Framework. This qualification will allow access to Level 4 on REPs if all of the other requirements have been met. Please see the REPs website for further details on entry requirements to Level 4 REPs. Candidates will train to a professionally competent level, enabling them to prescribe, plan, conduct and review programmes to address the needs of patients/clients with low back pain.


Entry requirements

  • Candidates must hold a Level 3 Certificate in Advanced Fitness Instructing or equivalent
  • Plus an additional category e.g. Personal Training, Exercise Referral
  • Professional practice unit.

  • Unit 1 –The Principles of Progressive Exercise Programming for Clients with Low Back Pain (D/501/9710)
  • Unit 2 – Progressive Exercise Programming for Clients with Low Back Pain (H/501/97/11)

Assessment

Internally assessed:

  • Externally set, internally marked case study
  • Internally assessed case study
  • Practical Observation.
