Following the announcement that North Hertfordshire College has been awarded National Skills Academy status for Sport and Active Leisure. The college has teamed up with Active IQ to offer its apprenticeships and vocational qualifications. This will directly benefit students working in or wishing to work in the Sport and Active Leisure industry as they will have a one stop shop for information and access to the highest-quality training programmes in this exciting and dynamic sector.
North Hertfordshire College currently offers a range of vocational training courses in this sector; these include: Gym Instruction, Personal Training, Exercise Referral and Circuit Training. In addition to this the College offer various Apprenticeships, which include: Leisure Operations, Leisure Management, Activity Leadership, Exercise & Fitness and Personal Training. Apprenticeships are growing in popularity amongst young people wishing to find employment without going to university. North Hertfordshire College hope to help many young people who choose to pursue this route in the active leisure sector.
James Luscombe, Advanced Learning Practitioner, from North Hertfordshire College says: "We’re pleased to be working with Active IQ on our fitness and active leisure training. Their support is fantastic and the resources they provide are very easy for the students to use. As a training provider we need to offer a variety of learning options to suit different student groups - from full to part time. The flexibility Active IQ provides is great and enables us to offer bespoke delivery methods including work based learning and eLearning."
