30 Aug 2011Active IQ and Formula GFI help more than 400 local young people into employment
Formula GFI, a Midlands-based Training Provider, which delivers youth training across the region has teamed up with Active IQ, the UK’s leading Ofqual approved awarding organisation, covering Health, Fitness, Sport and Recreation to up-skill and train local young people between the ages of 16-18 in exercise and fitness, which will provide part-time employment opportunities.
Working with more than 150 schools across the Midlands, Formula GFI has worked with almost 400 young people in the last 12 months and this is expected to rise next year. Delivering the training, Formula GFI has helped local young people achieve numerous Level 2 Active IQ qualifications in exercise to music, gym instruction and leading health related activities.
Charlie Graham, Education Director from Formula GFI says: "We are pleased to be working with Active IQ to deliver the industry leading fitness and exercise qualifications. We all know young people face barriers to employment but we are helping to break these down with the training Formula GFI provides. The Active IQ qualifications that our young people achieve enable them to find suitable local employment and make a difference to their communities by encouraging and teaching more people to keep fit and exercise, while earning money to fund further and even higher education. We are looking forward to working with Active IQ in the future to further develop our training and qualification portfolio."
Suzy Gunn, Executive Director for Active IQ said: "It’s great to see our qualifications making a real difference to the lives of young people and their communities across the Midlands. Young people have so much to offer the industry and it’s encouraging to see Formula GFI harnessing this potential and delivering some fantastic training courses and indeed inspirational local instructors."
Formula GFI has recently been awarded funding to deliver courses nationwide from the new academic year in September.
