24 Aug 2010Back to school with new Active IQ qualifications
Active IQ, one of the UK’s leading Ofqual approved awarding bodies, is launching a trio of new qualifications designed to help fitness professionals develop their careers.
The Active IQ Level 3 Award in Conversion of Advanced Fitness Instructor to Personal Trainer Status (QCF) launches in late September 2010 and will enable Advanced Fitness Instructors on REPs to become Level 3 Personal Trainers.
In early September, approved Active IQ centres will offer the Active IQ Level 3 Award in Nutrition for Physical Activity (QCF). This qualification is great news for instructors who want to offer nutritional advice to their clients without qualifying as a personal trainer. It works as a standalone qualification, making it a flexible option for a variety of fitness professionals.
The Active IQ Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (QCF) will be offered from late September this year and will help people who want to teach in the industry. The qualification provides a basic standard for anyone entering teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector. It will also provide progression for those looking to go on to further teaching qualifications.
Suzy Toseland Goakes, Executive Director of Active IQ, said: "We’re delighted to launch these new qualifications. They are designed to help fitness professionals upskill and develop their careers. With the start of the new academic year in September, it’s a great time to think about taking your career to the next level."
The QCF is currently live and running alongside the existing National Qualifications Framework (NQF). The NQF will cease to exist from 1 January 2011.
