23 Aug 2010Employer Recognition project with Spirit Health Clubs.
The new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) has opened up many new opportunities for employers to gain national accreditation for their high quality in-house training. The employer recognition project allows employers to work with Awarding Organisations to create bespoke qualifications based around pre-existing in-house training that employers offer.
Suzy Toseland-Goakes, Executive Director of Active IQ says "we were thrilled when Spirit Health Clubs approached us in order to nationally accredit their in house leisure management training and I am delighted that Spirit Health Clubs are now able to offer their own employees a totally bespoke, nationally accredited leisure management qualification that is truly unique to their organisation and encompasses the Spirit Health Club vision and values for excellence."
The qualification is titled "The Level 3 Certificate in Spirit Health Club Leisure Management" and comprises of four mandatory units:
· Principles of Leadership
· Recruitment and Development of Colleagues
· Financial and Commercial Health Club Management
· Health, Safety and Security in Sport and Active Leisure
The process has been straightforward to achieve and a new milestone for Active IQ and Spirit Health Clubs as they are committed to promoting from within rather than recruiting externally. Ross Cowie, Health & Fitness Training Manager for Spirit Health Clubs says "we are delighted to receive this national accreditation for our internal leisure management training. This means there is a training pathway with Spirit Health Clubs which is nationally accredited at every step, supporting progression from Leisure Attendant to Club Manager."
