Active IQ

Internal Verifier’s should hold or be working towards a recognised internal verification qualification. The following examples are acceptable (although Active IQ will consider other internal verification qualifications upon submission):

• D34 qualification
• V1 qualification
• Active IQ Level 4 Award in Understanding the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF)
• Active IQ Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF)
• Active IQ Level 4 Certificate in Leading the External Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF)

If the internal verifier wishes to internally verify work based competency qualifications (NVQs), then they must hold one of the following qualifications:

• D34 qualification
• V1 qualification
• Active IQ Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF)

Internal Verifiers must also have the following:

• A relevant qualification alongside relevant industry experience that demonstrates appropriate knowledge, understanding and competence of the qualification they wish to internally verify

Please note – trainee internal verifiers will require their decisions to be countersigned by a suitably qualified internal verifier.
