Requirements for Assessors
Assessors should hold or be working towards a recognised assessing qualification. The following examples are acceptable (although Active IQ will consider other assessing qualifications upon submission):
- D32/33 qualification
- A1 qualification
- Active IQ Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (QCF) or equivalent
- Active IQ Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (QCF)
- Active IQ Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (QCF).
If assessors wish to assess work based competency qualifications (NVQs), then they must hold one of the following qualifications:
- D32/D33 qualification
- A1 qualification
- Active IQ Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (QCF).
Assessors must also have the following:
- A relevant qualification alongside relevant industry experience that demonstrates appropriate knowledge, understanding and competence of the qualification they wish to assess
Please note – trainee assessors will require their decisions to be countersigned by a suitably qualified assessor.
